Club 3 Degrees (Minneapolis)

In 2003, this Christian music mecca (you'll pardon the phrase) relocated from Central Avenue to the den of sin--the Minneapolis Warehouse District, across from the Quest--and changed its name from the New Union to Club 3 Degrees. The new holds 1,7000 people over three floors, and the lineup remains characteristically diverse: hip hop, metal, national, local, gospel.

All ages welcome until 11:00 p.m.; 14 and under must be with someone 18 or older at all times. Lounge is 16+ after 9:00 p.m. Entire club is 18+ 11:00 p.m. to close (closing times are 10:00 p.m. Wednesdays, 11:00 p.m. or midnight Thursdays, 1:00 a.m. Friday nights, 1:30 a.m. Saturday nights, 10:00 p.m. Sundays.) For safety reasons, customers under 4 feet tall must use balcony for select shows. Admission is free for children under 1 year of age.

Map this on Platial

Underground

Twin Cities Underground is a volunteer-run youth center for ages 12-21.

Check the calendar

The main activity at TC Underground is music and spoken word on Friday and Saturday nights 7-10pm. Admission prices are low, usually $5, and youth volunteers get in free the night they work plus get a free admission pass to use another time or to give away to friends.

Other activities have included art shows, a book release party, video screenings, and various workshops. Anyone age 12-18 can bring their idea to the Monday Youth Committee Meeting, where activities are approved and planned by the Youth Committee.

Twin Cities Underground is run by volunteers ages 12-18 who discuss and vote on all aspects of operation. Things like activities, what to charge, rules and policies, and more are decided at these meetings.

MONDAY MEETINGS The Youth Committee meets every Monday night from 7:00 to 7:30pm, followed by Band Booking and Volunteer Signups at 7:30pm to 8:00pm (closed holiday weeks).

Anyone that wants to get involved is welcome to attend the Monday meetings, and everyone ages 12-18 can vote. Interested youth and adult volunteers can email tcvolunteer@gmail.com for info.

All youth decisions are supported by the adult Board of Directors of parent organization TEYN Twin Cities Extracurricular Youth Network, and events are staffed by Board members, parents, and community volunteers.
