Freewheelin' Farm

        http://www.coastroad.net/FreewheelinFarm
Freewheelin’ Farm is a one woman and many volunteers operation. We do not use any synthetic fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides and take care to preserve the quality and quantity of the soil and groundwater on the land.
At just one cultivated acre, Freewheelin’ Farm is smaller than most farms, making it possible to give careful attention to the ecosystem we are creating while maximizing the use of our resources.
Because the farm is just 5 miles north of Santa Cruz, you get the freshest possible produce delivered right to your door within hours of harvest.
All deliveries are made by bicycle and trailer and I carefully consider the pros and cons of each gallon of petroleum product used in the farming process. While the farm is not petroleum free (yet) I try to use as little as possible.
I aim to provide just prices in an effort to make eating healthy and local an affordable option for everyone.
About our Community Supported Agriculture Program:
Freewheelin' Farm provides a weekly harvest share from the beginning of May through the end of October. Payment for the season is NOT required up front, but your commitment is.
CSA pick-up spots: Shares are delivered by bike and trailer direct to your house or a convenient location in Downtown or West Side Santa Cruz. Members living on or commuting through the North Coast of Santa Cruz County are welcome to pick up their share on the farm.

We welcome visitors to our farm -- please call first.
Our farm does home deliveries -- please contact us for details.
Practices Followed on our Farm:
* GMO-Free
* Humanely Raised
* Organic (not Certified)

Products offered by Freewheelin' Farm:
Dairy & Eggs
* eggs

Farm Tourism & Events
* Farm tours
* Festival, celebrations

Fruits and Berries
* blackberries
* cantaloupes
* strawberries

Herbs
* fresh herbs

Specialty Products
* garlic braids

Vegetables
* arugula
* asian greens
* beets
* broccoli
* cabbage
* carrots
* cauliflower
* fava beans
* garlic
* green onions
* hot peppers
* kale
* leeks
* lettuce
* mustard greens
* nettles
* onions
* potatoes
* pumpkins
* radish
* rhubarb
* root crops
* salad greens
* salad mix
* spinach
* summer squash
* sweet peppers
* swiss chard
* tomatoes
* winter squash

Tags: farm, food, california, csa, sustainable agriculture, organic farm, sustainable farm

Map this on Platial
The Farm & Garden serve as training sites for students in the six-month Apprenticeship in Ecological Horticulture, who raise a wide variety of vegetable, fruit, and flower crops as part of their hands-on training.
