Three prominent Roslindale businesses will collaborate and host a French Dessert and Wine Pairing to benefit the Jason Roberts Challenger League for Special Children. 100% of all proceeds will be donated to build a handicapped - accessible lavatory facility at the Jason Roberts Field, located at the Ohrenberger School, 175 West Boundary Road, in West Roxbury.

The Jason Roberts Challenger League provides children with disabilities the chance to learn how to play baseball. This league, run by Bill Hubbard, is dedicated to the memory of his nephew, Jason Roberts, whose life tragically ended at the age of 21 by a drunk driver on June 29, 1991.

The French Dessert and Wine Pairing will take place promptly at 2pm and last until 330pm at NuVo Kitchen and Wine Bar located at 4174 Washington Street, Roslindale on Sunday, February 25th, 2007. French desserts will be donated by A. Boschetto’s Bakery, and wines will be donated by Solera Wine Shop. A brief discussion of the desserts and wine pairings will be conducted by A. Boschetto’s owner Joseph Murphy and certified pastry chef Charbel Shweiri, and Solera owner Maria Valencia. Guests will sample delicious French desserts such as petit four, éclairs filled with chocolate cream topped with chocolate ganache, mini mocha tart apricot glazed and chocolate ganache, and more tasty desserts.
