Dispite being removed to a far off section of the park 50 years ago, traces of the old zoo can be seen along this dirt trail above the roadway. The trail goes right through the concrete foundations of an old enclosure that ran up the hillside. The trail hits the road again near the old elephant barn. It now serves as a picnic shelter but this is where Rosy, Portland's first elephant, lived.
