Seeking directions to Shibuya? Don't ask these four lads. The foursome from Toronto may know how to get you there, but it's doubtful. So where did the name come from? Well, guitarist-percussionist Josh Hook told ourbrisbane.com "We did have a couple of times where we’d turn up and people would be like ‘Oh, you’re not Japanese at all.' There’s not a great explanation to the name. It was a lyric in the song 'Cheer It On', before we even had a name, and then when we were offered to play Pop Montreal. We needed a name, and we thought about how many people were going to be there and that we needed a name that would stand out in a list. So we chose Tokyo Police Club, and now we’re stuck with it, and that’s great!"
