Duxbury Beach

Description:
Best beach in the Boston area, IMHO. Public parking (~$10) accessible via north tail of salt flats (via Canal St. from Rt. 139); town residents can park via south tail across an old wooden bridge. The shallow grade means you can walk forever in waist-deep water. And when the tide goes out, a huge amount of beach opens up for you. You're forced onto a relatively narrow, rocky shelf when the tide is up. There's a little snack bar by the public lot, or else check out Farfar's Danish ice cream joint further inland on St. George's St.
