We've been doing a very good job of getting out to the Fells for our weekly walks in the woods.
A while back, Erik and Vigo went for a little walk in the Fells alone together. Whil e they were tromping around in the forest, they ran into a botanist at the top of a big rock formation. He was counting Lady Tress Orchids.
He told Erik that this is the only place in the Fells where these flowers grow and that they are very fragile. He counted over 40 plants, about double what there had been last year.
The flowers of these orchids are miniscule, about a centimeter long.
Vigo is fairly proud to know about these flowers and to be able to lead people to their location. It's currently his favorite spot in the Fells.
Amanita Probably dreadfully poisonous.
