Saint Catherine Laboure saw the virgin on several occasions and made may prophecies. Mary told Catherine to have this medallion made and to promote devotion to it. All who carry this talisman will be granted wonderful graces.
The most interesting thing about Saint Catherine is that she died, was buried, and then for some reason was exhumed 40 years later and her body hadn't decomposed at all. Her corpse is now on display in a glass coffin in this church here.
