Description:
Before the Great Depression Portland had the nations third largest narrow-gauge street car system. These trolleys had to go somewhere night, in form of large garages called "car barns." As best as I can figure SE Ankeny between 26th Ave. & 28th Ave. was the location of the East Ankeny trolley barn. Continued to be used as a bus barn until at least the late '40s / early '50s.
