Went to Stockholm on a whim while we were in Europe last. I had gone through briefly 10 years previous on the way to Jorpeland, Norway via Oslo and Stavanger. We had no idea where we were going to stay that night so we wandered through old downtown and down the river to a now non-seaworthy boat that has been converted into a very cool hotel/hostel. After checking in we went back into downtown and ate Swedish Fish in a public square where there was a weird "Man on the Street" Diet Coke promotion. There were two Uber-hip looking Swedes at a table with like, thousands of cans of Coke. One of them was yelling "Free Diet Coke!" in Swedish while the other was opening cans at hyper speed and handing them out.
Back at the Boat-el I discovered that the showers were just like, wide open with the rest of the bathroom. Sinks on one side of the room and showers on the other with no curtains or anything. No big deal except that if a shower is on everything gets wet. It's almost like there's just sinks in the shower room or somehting. So I take a shower at about 11:00pm and there's this Ultrahighfashion Italian dude in there brushing his teeth getting ready for a night on the town trying not to get sprayed from the shower!
