Description:
This is a rare spot of reconstructed nature in an area where almost every piece of land is highly managed, altered from its original condition, and controlled, especially along the Rio Grande. Now this park is site to a litlte more control in the form of a section of border fence which Homeland Security contractors Kiewit broke ground on in mid-December and are now close to finishing. At the start of construction Judy Ackerman sat down in front of the machines and delayed construction for 8 hours - the first act of civil disobedience against building of the border wall.
