Description:
848 E. Grand Avenue in Chicago is the original home of "This American Life," the brainchild of Ira Glass, a personal friend. Many people think Ira is from Illinois, but the truth is that Ira and I grew up together in Baltimore, MD - same neighborhood, same schools. We often collaborated on plays, him mostly writing and directing, me mostly singing and acting, although there was a year when we wrote a play together. We also entertained at children's birthday parties during Middle School, him doing magic and me doing ventriloquism. I absolutely adore his incredibly popular program, TAL, which you can catch on NPR radio and Showtime TV. The DVDs should be out soon. Ira has also penned a couple of books that you can order online from Amazon.com or purchase at Borders, Barnes & Noble, etc.
