Ditch the car and take a sea bus to this small island in the heart of Vancouver. You'll spend a pleasant afternoon browsing the traffic-free artists' community and public market. Assemble a picnic in the market and snag bench space on the water while you munch. Something's always going on here. While we were there, we danced to a salsa band by the market, browsed artisans' workshops, and stumbled across a sidewalk chalk festival dsplaying a vast array of local talent. This is one of Vancouver's best free sights.
