I tend to dislike mega-chains, especially when it comes to coffee, but this Starbucks has one of the worst atmospheres I've seen. Growing up in Portland, I appreciate the locally-run neighborhood coffee shop, with its unique character. This Starbucks is bland - no real decor theme and a lack of comfortable seating. The baristas are friendly enough, but the coffee tastes burnt, and I happen to adore strong coffee. (I know this is a common complaint, and I've experienced this at every Starbucks I've been to - it has to be the Starbucks roasting process). At least they kept the historic storefront in tact so it blends into downtown Appleton. With the wealth of other local coffee options just steps away, I would avoid Starbucks at all costs.
