Renee was a girl who had dated my good friend Jason in high school. After years of wanting to ask her out, I finally did, to a play at the Human Experience Theatre in Columbus. I went to her house to pick her up at the time we'd decided on, and the house was dark and empty; I called her and there was no answer.
