Description:
After figuring out that the numbers he used to win the lottery are cursed, hurley goes to find Sam Tooney in Australia, who had heard them broadcast in the Pacific along with his friend Leaonard.

Hurley got the numbers from L while he was in the mental hospital.

When he gets to Tooney's house he learns that Sam had used the numbers to win a bean counting contest which had begun a chain of disastrous events in his own life, ending only with his death.

Tooney's wife refuses to believe that the numbers are cursed.

This all happens as a flash back in the episode where Hurley goes to find Rousseau after seeing a paper on which she had repeatedly written the numbers.
