Lake George is a family destination for the summer months and has been for centuries. If you are planning on visiting in the summer, check the website above for the firework schedule, as fireworks are normally done on Thursdays. One of my favorite seasons for Lake George though is the dead of winter. Perch are abundant and the solitude of ice fishing is a welcome calm from the fake spread of a summer tourist town.
