While I've never much been able to find fun and good quality german cuisine (even in Germany), it has certainly found a home in Hayes Valley.

Fun, fun, fun...this place is warm and inviting, with a lot of communal seating which makes it very social, making it a great eating and drinking hall.

Most importantly, they are home to the best German beer menu I've seen stateside, and most on tap as well which is rare.

The food is surprisingly good quality, making an incredibly light schnitzel, as well as a wonderful buttery and light spaezle. The black forest cake is also quite good.
