Description:
Added for completeness, but I can't recall what I had. The curtido was surprisingly yummy. Maybe it wasn't, but I wasn't so critical at the time. I don't know. I've had the little B&C bowl thing, and it was okay.
The best part about the DB chain is the interior, which they never seem to update. It looks like the 1970s. Los Angeles might be the alternate universe of food, where the food is good, but the interiors are ugly and outdated. It's almost like a formula -- if you see it's kind of generic decor, but crowded, you know the food is good. (Ever see an empty Zankou Chicken or Sam Woo?) If it looks good inside, and is crowded, there's some risk involved. (e.g. PF Changs or any Patina restaurant.) If it's attractive and not busy. LOLz. Might as well burn your money, or PayPal it directly to the interior decorator.
