Joelle was a girl who lived in my building and, according to some of my neighbors, wanted to go out with me, but I didn't follow up on this based on bad experiences with other neighbors including April and Jamie G. (qq.v.). Eventually Joelle moved out of the building, and after I ran into her at a bar one Saturday night and we talked for a while, I decided (at the encouragement of a friend) to go ahead and ask her out. But when I did, she suddenly wasn't attracted to me anymore.
