Carolyne and KC, the teenage instructors, were great. Vigo didn't want to go into the pool for three of the first five days because he was feeling homesick and seemed to want to feel this new feeling to the utmost. Fun swimming lessons would have distracted him. On the last day of his resistance, he was even closing his eyes and plugging his ears to not be distracted by the fun happening so close to him. The second week was a lot better. He got in the pool most days and really, really enjoyed himself. On the last day he even went down the waterslide all by himself.
Emiko was great at swimming lessons, with a couple days of crying in the water. Her jumps into the pool were spectacular. I got a couple on video. She really seemed to love it, and she really liked Carolyn, their instructor.
