Samsung and mobile phone provider TVA Sistema de Televisao S.A, a telecom service provider of Abril Group in Brazil have signed a partnership to implement WiMAX platform in Brazil. The agreement makes TVA the first operator able to offer Mobile WiMAX service in Latin America, reaffirming the company’s history as a trendsetter and high-technology services provider.

WiMAX platform is offering wireless high-speed data communications on the move complying with IEEE 802.16e standard. The technology boasts maximum 3Mbps capacity per user, total mobility up to 120km/h and can be used both as a fixed or mobile technology.

Brazilian customers will be able to enjoy high speed internet, voice communications, and other multimedia broadcasting contents on the move from the second half of 2006.
