Description:
Unwired Australia is the world's largest portable broadband wireless network (with over 50,000 subscribers to date), using pre-standard Navini deployments after their launch in August 2004.
The Ripwave-MX dual-mode CPE, which starts shipping in Q4 2005, and the Ripwave-MX dual-mode PCMCIA card, which is targeted for 1Q 2006, will both be software upgradeable to Navini's 802.16e system.
Dual-mode means that the CPE and the PCMCIA card will be capable of switching between the current pre-WiMAX mode and 802.16e mode.
Navini's antennas form individual, independent signal beams optimized for a customer's location, distance and QoS. With 80 simultaneous beams, this capability can be shared across a great many customers on each site.
